SWMC Equipment Operator

About the role

Amentum is seeking a qualified SWMC (Solid Waste Management Center) Equipment Operator to support a critical U.S. Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role involves safe and efficient operation of vehicles and equipment used in solid waste management, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Operate automotive vehicles and solid waste management equipment in accordance with NAVFAC P‑300 and 49 CFR Part 383/391 standards.
• Transport waste‑related loads safely, following operational and waste‑management protocols.
• Perform pre‑operation and post‑operation equipment checks and document findings.
• Maintain vehicles and equipment through routine inspections, minor repairs, and preventive maintenance.
• Ensure valid operator licenses are held and displayed at all times.
• Adhere to safety guidelines, waste‑handling procedures, and load‑transport regulations.
• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to prioritize tasks and complete assignments.
• Document and retain records of equipment usage, maintenance, and load transportation.

Required profile

• Fully qualified and licensed to operate automotive vehicles and equipment per NAVFAC P‑300 and 49 CFR Part 383/391.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid passport with at least one year remaining validity.
• Ability to pass contract medical requirements and maintain them throughout deployment.
