Supervisor – Base Communications Office (Telecom)

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Supervisor for the Base Communications Office (BCO) to lead the installation, operation, and maintenance of the Base Telecommunications Distribution System supporting a U.S. Navy program on Diego Garcia.

Key responsibilities

• Lead installation and operation of the Base Telecommunications Distribution System and related components.
• Maintain switch operations, switchboard functions, inside‑plant telephone switches, station equipment, customer‑premise cabling, and outside‑plant fiber optic/copper cables.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate personnel responsible for communications infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with BICSI certification standards and equipment‑manufacturer certifications.
• Conduct scheduled inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and testing.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and produce detailed performance and incident reports.

Required profile

• BICSI Registered Technician Level certification or higher.
• Industry‑approved certifications from relevant equipment manufacturers.
• Proven experience managing telecommunications systems in a defense or critical‑infrastructure environment.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills.
