Satellite Operations Technician

About the role

The Satellite Operations Technician supports the Satellite Control Network Operations, Remote Site and Mission Partner Support (STORMS) contract at Diego Garcia. The role involves configuring, operating and maintaining communications‑electronics equipment at Remote Tracking Stations to ensure continuous satellite operations.

Key responsibilities

• Configure, operate and maintain assigned systems during satellite support, test, and maintenance activities.
• Initiate, direct and verify completion of operational events for acquisition, tracking and commanding functions.
• Perform Senior Contract Representative duties as required.
• Maintain awareness of station equipment status and perform COMSEC duties.
• Assist with repairs, alignment, and preventive maintenance inspections of equipment.
• Prepare daily activity logs and perform systems administration on mission‑related equipment.
• Provide on‑the‑job training to assigned trainees and execute other collateral duties.

Required profile

• Active SECRET security clearance (or higher) and U.S. citizenship.
• Ability to work at heights, on elevated platforms and antennas.
• Physical capability for strenuous work including lifting, climbing, and reaching overhead.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Fluent reading, writing and speaking of English.
• Familiarity with electronic test equipment and related procedures.
