Satellite Operations Technician

About the role

The Satellite Operations Technician supports the Satellite Control Network Operations, Remote Site and Mission Partner Support (STORMS) contract at Diego Garcia. You will ensure the operability of communications‑electronics equipment at Remote Tracking Stations by performing configuration, operation, and maintenance activities.

Key responsibilities

• Configure, operate and maintain assigned systems during satellite support, test, and maintenance activities.
• Initiate, direct and verify completion of operational events for acquisition, tracking and commanding functions.
• Perform Senior Contract Representative duties as required.
• Maintain awareness of station equipment status and perform COMSEC duties.
• Assist with repairs, alignment, and preventive maintenance inspections of equipment.
• Maintain vehicle folders and prepare daily activity logs in electronic systems.
• Provide on‑the‑job training to assigned trainees when directed.
• Execute other collateral duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Active SECRET security clearance (or higher) and U.S. citizenship.
• Ability to work at heights, on elevated platforms and antennas, and perform strenuous physical tasks.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Fluent in reading, writing and speaking English.
• Preferred associate degree in Electronics or equivalent experience.

Required skills

• Use of electronic test equipment: multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, frequency counters, signal generators, power meters, data analyzers.
