Crane Operator / Rigger Foreman for US Navy Program

About the role

Amentum is seeking an experienced Crane Operator / Rigger Foreman to support a unique U.S. Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role combines hands‑on crane operation with supervision of rigging personnel, ensuring all activities meet strict NAVFAC P‑307 standards and safety requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Operate cranes safely in accordance with NAVFAC P‑307 and other applicable regulations.
• Supervise and lead rigging teams during all crane operations.
• Prepare, review, and execute lift plans that align with mission‑critical safety guidelines.
• Inspect rigging tools and equipment regularly to verify condition and compliance.
• Conduct routine crane inspections, maintenance, and documentation.
• Train riggers on proper hand‑signal communication and safe rigging practices.
• Monitor occupational health and safety regulations throughout all activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience operating cranes and performing rigging operations.
• Certification and training that meet NAVFAC P‑307 standards.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid passport with at least one year remaining validity and ability to travel internationally.
• Ability to pass contract medical requirements and maintain them for the deployment duration.
