Synchrolift Support Hand – Dry Dock Operations

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Synchrolift Support Hand to join a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role involves supporting dry‑docking and undocking evolutions using the Synchrolift system, ensuring safe and efficient vessel handling.

Key responsibilities

• Handle lines, operate the capstan, and drive transfer tractors or related equipment during docking and undocking.
• Prepare and participate in all phases of dry‑docking/undocking evolutions.
• Serve as a qualified diver/swimmer, performing underwater tasks as required.
• Draft and submit detailed Dive Plans and Safety Briefs for any dive work.
• Inspect, maintain, and perform minor repairs on docking equipment and tools.
• Assist the Synchrolift team in aligning and securing vessels.
• Coordinate with team members and supervisors to ensure successful task execution.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid passport with at least one year remaining.
• Ability to pass contract medical and diving‑related physicals.
• Experience or training in line handling, capstan operation, and transfer tractor use.
• Qualified diver/swimmer with knowledge of dive safety protocols.
