Painter – Navy Program (Diego Garcia)

About the role

Amentum is seeking a skilled Painter to support a critical U.S. Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia. The role involves preserving and finishing a variety of structures and facilities in accordance with Navy standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform surface preparation, rust removal, and debris cleaning using hand and pneumatic tools.
• Apply primers, paints, coatings, and sealants with brushes, rollers, and spray equipment following technical instructions.
• Support corrosion‑control activities such as chipping, scraping, sanding, masking, and coating.
• Maintain cleanliness, readiness, and accountability of all painting tools, PPE, materials, and equipment.
• Assist with setup, containment, and cleanup of work areas to ensure safe, compliant operations.
• Document material usage, logs, and basic preservation records.
• Communicate progress, issues, and safety concerns to supervisors.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of experience in painting, preservation, coatings, or corrosion control.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid passport (minimum one year beyond hire date) and ability to travel internationally.
• Ability to meet contract medical requirements and obtain facility credentials.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to secure required visas.
