About the role
Amentum is seeking an experienced Crane Operator / Rigger Foreman to support a unique U.S. Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role combines hands‑on crane operation with supervision of rigging personnel, ensuring all activities meet strict safety and NAVFAC P‑307 standards.
Key responsibilities
- Operate cranes safely in accordance with NAVFAC P‑307 and other applicable standards.
- Supervise and lead rigging personnel during all crane operations.
- Train riggers on proper hand‑signal communication as defined by NAVFAC P‑307.
- Inspect rigging tools and equipment to confirm condition and compliance.
- Prepare, review, and execute lift plans aligned with safety and mission‑readiness guidelines.
- Conduct routine crane inspections and maintenance.
- Monitor compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
Required profile
- Proven experience operating cranes and performing rigging operations.
- Certification and training that meet NAVFAC P‑307 standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid passport (minimum one‑year validity) and ability to travel internationally.
- Ability to pass contract medical requirements for the duration of deployment.
