Crane Operator & Rigger Foreman – US Navy Program

About the role

Amentum is seeking an experienced Crane Operator / Rigger Foreman to support a unique U.S. Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role combines hands‑on crane operation with supervision of rigging personnel, ensuring all activities meet strict safety and NAVFAC P‑307 standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate cranes safely in accordance with NAVFAC P‑307 and other applicable standards.
• Supervise and lead rigging personnel during all crane operations.
• Train riggers on proper hand‑signal communication as defined by NAVFAC P‑307.
• Inspect rigging tools and equipment to confirm condition and compliance.
• Prepare, review, and execute lift plans aligned with safety and mission‑readiness guidelines.
• Conduct routine crane inspections and maintenance.
• Monitor compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.

Required profile

• Proven experience operating cranes and performing rigging operations.
• Certification and training that meet NAVFAC P‑307 standards.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid passport (minimum one‑year validity) and ability to travel internationally.
• Ability to pass contract medical requirements for the duration of deployment.
