About the role
The Aquatics Manager will lead the aquatic programs for a Family‑Morale‑Welfare‑Recreation (FMWR) activity on Diego Garcia, ensuring safe, enjoyable, and well‑structured water‑based services for the U.S. Navy community.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and supervise all aquatic programs, including fitness, instructional, and joint community activities.
- Assist the program manager with administrative tasks and overall activity operations.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute both recurring and special‑event aquatic events.
- Recruit, interview, orient, train, and supervise staff members.
- Provide leadership, direction, and performance analysis for the program.
Required profile
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in General Recreation or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of three years in a leadership role.
- Red Cross CPR certification.
- Valid passport (minimum one‑year validity) and ability to meet contract medical requirements.
- Valid driver’s license and necessary country visa.
Required skills
- Pool chemical testing and adjustment.
- Emergency equipment management for aquatic safety.
- Water‑safety instruction and lifeguard training.
