Transient Line Technician – Aircraft Ground Handling

About the role
The Transient Line Technician will support a US Navy program on Diego Garcia by providing ground handling and servicing for arriving and departing aircraft. Working under the Transient Line Production Superintendent, you will ensure safe, efficient aircraft movements and compliance with all aviation standards.
Key responsibilities
- Provide ground handling services such as refueling, towing, and securing aircraft.
- Execute FAA standard marshalling commands to direct aircraft on the ground.
- Assist with aircraft maintenance checks, inspections, and operational activities.
- Operate ground support equipment (GSE) and other vehicles safely.
- Coordinate with T‑Line supervisors to ensure timely service of all aircraft.
- Identify and resolve minor maintenance issues or escalate as needed.
- Maintain accurate service records and report discrepancies.
Required profile
- Minimum two years of general aircraft maintenance experience (large‑body aircraft preferred).
- Demonstrated knowledge of FAA marshalling commands.
- Valid driver’s license (U.S. or International) and passport valid for at least one year.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to pass contract medical requirements and remain deployable.
