Technical Reference Librarian – USAF Support

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Technical Reference Librarian to support a unique USAF program on Diego Garcia. The role involves managing technical manuals, reference materials, and both classified and unclassified documentation for operational personnel.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, organize, and maintain technical manuals, reference materials, digital resources, and classified/unclassified documentation.
• Provide research assistance and reference support to maintenance, engineering, and operational staff.
• Maintain accurate cataloging, indexing, and inventory systems in line with Air Force and Amentum standards.
• Ensure documents are current, properly stored, and compliant with revision control and distribution requirements.
• Assist with digitization, scanning, and electronic filing of technical materials.
• Track, issue, and control technical publications and controlled documents.
• Coordinate with USAF departments to obtain updated manuals, Technical Orders (TOs), bulletins, and directives.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and secure technical library environment.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience in library services, technical documentation, records management, or administrative support.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in library science, information management, or records administration preferred.
• Valid passport with at least one year validity beyond hire date and ability to travel internationally.
• Ability to pass contract medical requirements and maintain required credentials for the deployment duration.
• Capability to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
