About the role
The Production Control Clerk / Service Writer is based on Diego Garcia and supports the Production Control Supervisor and Maintenance Manager by maintaining equipment databases, generating reports and providing logistical administration for military and civilian assets.
Key responsibilities
- Enter, update and export data in GCSS‑ARMY or other approved logistics information systems.
- Create and maintain custom equipment tracking spreadsheets and databases.
- Generate and deliver regular reports to management on vehicle and equipment status.
- Ensure all maintenance records are recorded in historical jackets and the computerized maintenance management system.
- Support continuous improvement and quality assurance processes.
- Provide administrative assistance and mentor on‑the‑job training for cross‑training.
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum two years hands‑on experience in production control, administration or dispatching.
- Experience or training equivalent to Military Occupation CMF 92A Production Control.
- Valid state driver’s licence and ability to obtain required military operator permits.
- Ability to work day, night, weekend or overtime as needed.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel.
- Experience using GCSS‑ARMY and other government‑approved logistics information systems (LIS).
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals.
- Competence with standard office equipment and computers.
