Ship Load Planner

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Ship Load Planner to support a critical U.S. Navy program on Diego Garcia. You will develop and execute cargo stowage plans, ensuring vessel stability, safety, and efficient loading/unloading operations.

Key responsibilities

• Create accurate cargo and container stowage plans using ship loading software.
• Coordinate with shipping agents, port authorities, stevedores, and logistics teams to meet timelines.
• Work with vessel captains and marine terminals to verify stability and seaworthiness.
• Analyze freight manifests, verify dimensions, weights, and special handling needs.
• Perform inspections to confirm adherence to load plans and safety standards.
• Provide real‑time adjustments when deviations occur during vessel operations.
• Prepare detailed reports on cargo handling, discrepancies, and feedback.
• Ensure compliance with local, governmental, and international shipping regulations.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience in ship load planning, maritime logistics, or related fields.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid passport (minimum one‑year validity) and ability to travel internationally.
• Ability to pass contract medical requirements and maintain facility credentials.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ship stowage planning software (e.g., CASP, MACS3).
• Strong knowledge of maritime loading principles and safety guidelines.
• Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.
