Automotive Painter

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Automotive Painter to join Amentum’s US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role involves preparing and coating vehicle and equipment surfaces to meet strict military specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Apply primer, paint, lacquer, epoxy or resin using brushes, rollers, spray guns or other equipment.
• Remove existing coatings with liquid removers, scrapers or plastic/sand media blasting.
• Smooth and finish surfaces using sandpaper, steel wool and acid solutions to ensure proper adhesion and corrosion protection.
• Mask and cover areas not to be painted and apply insignia, letters or numerals using stencils.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the contract unit equipment.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum three years recent experience in maintenance, blasting, overhaul and painting/de‑painting of contract equipment.
• Normal color vision and ability to pass physical fitness and respirator fit tests.
• Valid passport (minimum one‑year validity) and ability to travel internationally.
• Capability to meet contract medical requirements and obtain necessary facility credentials.
