Production Control Clerk / Service Writer

About the role

The Production Control Clerk / Service Writer provides essential logistical and administrative support for the monitoring and management of military and civilian equipment on Diego Garcia. Working closely with the Production Control Supervisor and Maintenance Manager, the role ensures accurate data handling, reporting, and record‑keeping for equipment and vehicle assignments.

Key responsibilities

• Input, update and export data using GCSS‑Army or other government‑approved logistics information systems.
• Perform accurate data entry and generate reports on vehicles and equipment assigned to the program.
• Create and maintain custom equipment‑tracking databases and spreadsheets.
• Provide logistical and administrative support to management, delivering timely reports.
• Support continuous‑improvement and quality‑assurance processes.
• Maintain maintenance records in historical jackets and computerized systems, including disposition and cannibalization documentation.
• Mentor and assist with on‑the‑job training and cross‑training of staff.
• Comply with all company policies, safety, environmental and quality standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two years of hands‑on experience in production control, administration or dispatching.
• Preferably trained in Military Occupation CMF 92A Production Control or an equivalent commercial program.
• Valid state driver’s license and ability to obtain a military operator’s permit for required vehicles.
• Fluent in spoken, written and read English.

Required skills

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using GCSS‑Army and other government‑approved logistics information systems (LIS).
• Ability to read and apply technical manuals.
• Strong computer and office equipment usage skills.
