Recreation Services Coordinator

About the role

Amentum is looking for a Recreation Services Coordinator to support a unique U.S. Navy Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) program on Diego Garcia. The role ensures seamless delivery of recreational activities, resale operations, and safety compliance for military personnel and base residents.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Recreation Services Manager in planning, coordinating, and administering all MWR programs and services.
• Maintain compliance with safety and health regulations, including CNICINST 1710.3 requirements.
• Obtain and keep current certifications such as CPR and American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Instructor.
• Officiate sports events including soccer, basketball, volleyball, softball, and flag football.
• Support resale operations, manage inventory, track supply chain, and conduct efficiency analyses.
• Develop and market recreational activities to engage the military community.
• Deliver exceptional customer service through the MWR Star Service and AECR programs.
• Document employee training and provide on‑the‑job instruction for staff.
• Monitor daily operations of facilities, programs, and sports leagues to ensure quality standards.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of experience in military recreational services or a comparable civilian role.
• Demonstrated understanding of recreation program goals, principles, and techniques.
• Experience with marketing strategies to promote recreational services.
• Ability to obtain or maintain required certifications (CPR, Lifeguard Instructor).
• Willingness to complete Navy MWR Star Service and AECR customer‑service training.
