Operator in Responsible Charge (ORC) – Water Treatment

About the role

Amentum is seeking an Operator in Responsible Charge (ORC) to manage water treatment and distribution operations for a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role ensures safe, compliant water supply while leading a team of certified operators.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily operations and maintenance of water treatment plants (WTP) and distribution systems in line with CNIC M-5090.1A and other regulations.
• Supervise certified plant operators and technicians, coordinating schedules and temporary replacements.
• Conduct inspections, testing, and troubleshooting to maintain water quality and system uptime.
• Maintain accurate operational, maintenance, and performance records.
• Oversee water testing, reporting, and compliance with quality assurance standards.
• Communicate effectively with internal staff and external stakeholders in English.

Required profile

• Certified Level III Treatment and Level III Distribution operator certification.
• 1‑3 years of experience operating and maintaining water treatment or distribution systems.
• Valid passport (minimum 1‑year validity) and ability to travel internationally.
• Ability to pass contract medical requirements and obtain facility credentials.
