Warehouse Specialist & Forklift Operator

About the role

Amentum is looking for a Warehouse Specialist who can also operate forklifts to support a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role involves receiving, storing, and shipping materials while maintaining safety and inventory accuracy.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and record incoming shipments with proper documentation.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material‑handling equipment safely.
• Pick, pack, and prepare outbound shipments according to packaging and shipping requirements.
• Load and unload delivery trucks, ensuring accurate receipt and dispatch of goods.
• Conduct cycle counts, physical inventory checks, and reconcile discrepancies.
• Maintain warehouse cleanliness, safety, and equipment compliance.
• Coordinate with other departments or vendors for efficient material flow.
• Maintain accurate logs of all incoming and outgoing materials.
• Perform preventive maintenance checks on forklifts and report any issues.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of experience in a warehouse or material‑handling environment.
• 1–2 years of forklift operation experience with a valid certification or license.
• Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and HAZMAT handling where applicable.
