Taxi Driver (US Navy Program)

About the role

Amentum is seeking a reliable Taxi Driver to support a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role involves operating non‑tactical vehicles safely, providing transportation for authorized personnel, and ensuring compliance with NAVFAC P‑300 standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate Non‑Tactical Vehicles and Equipment (NTVE) in accordance with NAVFAC P‑300 standards.
• Provide safe and efficient transportation services to authorized personnel.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness, operational readiness, and perform basic inspections (fluid levels, tires, lights).
• Report mechanical issues or maintenance needs promptly.
• Follow local traffic laws, organizational policies, and maintain accurate vehicle logs and trip reports.
• Deliver courteous service and adhere to established schedules.
• Perform other duties consistent with the position as assigned.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license appropriate for the assigned vehicles.
• Minimum two years’ experience operating light or medium‑duty vehicles in a professional setting.
• Valid passport (minimum one‑year validity) and ability to obtain required visas.
• Ability to pass contract medical requirements and maintain them throughout deployment.
• Proficiency in English (reading, speaking, comprehension) for contract performance and emergency procedures.
• Capability to work independently and obtain facility credentials/authorization.

Required skills

• Vehicle inspection and basic maintenance.
• Compliance with NAVFAC P‑300 standards.
