Galley Accountant – Navy Food Service Accounting

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Galley Accountant to support a unique U.S. Navy food service program on Diego Garcia, managing accounting records and ensuring compliance with Navy regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate Navy food service accounting records in both manual and automated formats using the latest Food Service Management (FSM) system.
• Prepare and submit financial reports, returns and summaries in compliance with Navy protocols and timelines.
• Review, reconcile and audit records to ensure conformity with DoD and Navy directives.
• Support compliance audits and collaborate with food service personnel, leadership and auditors.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of experience in Navy food service records management.
• Training certificate from the Navy Records and Returns School.
• High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is preferred.
• Valid passport (minimum one year) and ability to obtain required visas and security clearances.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Food Service Management (FSM) software.
• Ability to manage manual paper logs when the system is offline.
• Strong organizational, time‑management and attention‑to‑detail abilities.
