Aircraft Load Planner

About the role

Amentum is seeking an Aircraft Load Planner to support a unique U.S. Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role ensures that aircraft weight distribution, cargo, baggage, and passengers comply with safety regulations and aircraft limits.

Key responsibilities

• Provide planning guidance and develop load estimates for various aircraft types.
• Review weight‑and‑balance records and cargo manifests.
• Determine cargo, passenger, or troop quantities and optimal placement within the aircraft.
• Compute load distribution, weight‑and‑balance, and compartment allocations, considering fuel load, structural limits, and emergency equipment.
• Operate the Automated Air Load Planning System (AALPS) and Integrated Computerized Deployment System (ICODES) for USAF cargo aircraft.
• Coordinate with U.S. Army units and Air Force Loadmasters to ensure proper loading.
• Perform additional duties consistent with the position’s level and nature.

Required profile

• Minimum two years’ experience with AALPS and/or ICODES.
• Minimum two years’ experience with GATES and GDSS II.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to complete DoD Hazardous Materials Inspector Course and AMC load‑planning training.
• Strong communication skills with military and civilian personnel.
• Self‑starter capable of working independently.
• Valid passport (minimum one‑year validity) and ability to obtain required visas and medical clearances.
