Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) Manager

About the role

The Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) Manager will lead all operations, maintenance, and personnel for AGE assets supporting a critical US Navy program on Diego Garcia. This position ensures that all equipment remains operational, safe, and compliant with Navy directives.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise inspection, maintenance, overhaul, repair, and modification of AGE systems to maintain optimal readiness.
• Lead AGE technicians, supervisors, and support staff, providing direction and mentorship.
• Oversee daily use of AGE assets, ensuring adherence to maintenance directives, policies, and safety standards.
• Develop schedules and work plans for preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Monitor team performance, enforce deadlines, quality workmanship, and safety protocols.
• Apply mechanical principles, pneumatics, hydraulics, internal combustion engines, refrigeration, heating, and electrical/electronic systems.
• Interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, blueprints, manuals, and maintenance publications.
• Manage hazardous waste handling, storage, and disposal in compliance with environmental regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and reports.
• Serve as primary liaison with other departments, contractors, and leadership regarding AGE operations.

Required profile

• High school diploma required; higher education preferred.
• Minimum five years supervisory experience in aviation maintenance focused on AGE.
• Extensive knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, heating, refrigeration, gasoline and diesel engine, and electrical/electronic systems.
• Proficiency interpreting technical materials such as schematics, blueprints, and manuals.
• Strong understanding of maintenance directives and hazardous waste regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and workforce management skills.
