Senior Cashier

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Senior Cashier to support a unique US Navy Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) program on Diego Garcia. The role ensures accurate cash handling, high‑quality patron service, and compliance with Navy and government financial procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Handle cash, checks, and other payments from patrons, verify eligibility, and process transactions.
• Bag and deposit cash and equivalents with the Daily Activity Report in the MWR central cashier’s night depository or Central Cashier cage.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting and reporting standards.
• Perform routine checks on daily transactions for accuracy and adherence to CNICINST 1710.3 CHAP 1 SEC 114 and other government‑approved procedures.
• Provide excellent customer service in English, respond to inquiries, and resolve concerns professionally.
• Train in and follow hazardous‑material handling and safety protocols in accordance with Navy standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned consistent with the position’s level.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of cashiering experience, preferably in a supervisory or senior role within retail, food service, or recreation.
• Ability to complete and maintain required training and certifications (Customer Service, CPR, First Aid) with annual recertification.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Enthusiastic, responsive, and customer‑service‑focused demeanor.
