Marina Manager

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Marina Manager to lead operations for a U.S. Navy program located on Diego Garcia. The role combines facility management, customer service, and hands‑on instruction in small‑craft handling to ensure safe, efficient, and enjoyable marina activities.

Key responsibilities

• Direct all marina operations, including equipment rentals, recreational boating activities, and facility upkeep.
• Serve as an instructor and trainer for sail and power small‑craft handling, providing basic sailing lessons to patrons and staff.
• Maintain compliance with safety standards, conduct regular safety briefings, and oversee emergency response readiness.
• Develop and implement boating‑safety programs to enhance patron experience and operational efficiency.
• Monitor maintenance, inspections, and readiness of marina equipment, vessels, and infrastructure.
• Prepare activity logs, inventory reports, and compliance documentation.
• Supervise, train, and develop marina staff to ensure high‑quality service delivery.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of experience supervising a marina or similar recreational boating facility, preferably within U.S. Navy MWR programs.
• Ability to obtain or hold certifications as a small‑craft handling instructor, basic sailing instructor, and CPR/AED/First Aid.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and effective communication skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent; higher education in a related field is a plus.
• Valid passport with at least one year of validity and ability to travel internationally.
• Availability to respond on‑site within one hour of any emergency notification.
