IT Manager - Diego Garcia

About the role

Amentum, a global provider of engineering, technical and professional services to the US government, allies and critical infrastructure, is seeking an IT Manager to support a government contract on the island of Diego Garcia. The role covers IT support and management for facilities construction, operation and maintenance (O&M) and support services, from system upgrades and renovations to new construction, with the aim of keeping site infrastructure running and protecting the life, health and safety of personnel. The manager interfaces with the KO, COR and other organisations and ensures compliance with the Performance Work Statement, programme, USG and international requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the IT support and management organisation and interface with the KO, COR and other organisations to meet the specification requirements.
• Ensure compliance with standard management practices such as monitoring, records keeping, report preparation, training, inspections and data reporting.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Provide on-call support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in an associated discipline preferred; two years of related experience may substitute for each year of the four years of college.
• At least three years of experience in systems management, including help desk, network recapitalization, system security plans and protected communications.
• Three years in a leadership role in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforce.
• Experience documenting USN (United States Navy) standards strongly preferred.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a US passport and driver's licence, pass PACOM medical requirements and hold a Secret US Government clearance (US citizenship required).

Required skills

• Cisco CCNP, CCDP and CCIE certification.
• Microsoft MCSA, MCDST and MCP certifications for local system and application management.
• Experience with United States Naval Networks.
• Familiarity with global, US, programme and PWS requirements.
