About the role
Amentum is seeking a Cook to support a unique US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role involves daily culinary support for the contract, ensuring high‑quality meals and strict food safety compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and measure ingredients according to standard recipes and menu requirements.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef and culinary team to serve high‑quality meals during scheduled dining periods.
- Maintain accurate food inventory records, report discrepancies, and rotate stock using FIFO methods.
- Store food products in compliance with safety standards and monitor proper temperatures.
- Replenish kitchen supplies and workstations for upcoming shifts.
- Clean and sanitize preparation areas, equipment, and workstations at the end of each shift.
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum two years of experience as a Cook in a commercial or restaurant environment.
- Valid passport with at least one year remaining and ability to obtain required visas.
- Ability to pass contract medical requirements and maintain facility credentials.
- Proficiency in English sufficient to perform contract duties and follow emergency procedures.
Required skills
- ServSafe Food Handler or Food Protection Manager certification (or ability to obtain).
- Working knowledge of proper food handling, sanitation, and food safety procedures.
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow recipes and food production guidelines.
