Senior MWR Accountant – US Navy Program

About the role

Amentum is looking for a Senior Accountant to manage Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) financial operations for a unique US Navy program based on Diego Garcia. The role combines rigorous accounting oversight with a strong focus on compliance, customer service, and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain an accounting calendar and ensure timely month‑end close processes.
• Generate and submit financial reports from SAP, FoodTrak, Micros, and AIMS according to CNIC schedules.
• Prepare Uniform Funding Management Memorandum of Agreement (UFM MOA) billing, consolidating expenses and supporting documentation on Form 1034.
• Ensure compliance with Navy guidance (CNICINST 1710.3) for all accounting activities.
• Track revenue, allocate expenses, and manage hazardous material procedures, including CPR certification.
• Perform reconciliations, analyses, and audits for all MWR‑related accounts.
• Maintain accurate financial records and deliver reports to stakeholders within set deadlines.

Required profile

• Significant accounting or financial management experience in a senior or leadership role.
• Familiarity with SAP, FoodTrak, Micros, and AIMS (or equivalent systems).
• Proven ability to prepare financial reports and manage billing under federal regulations.
• Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain it.
• Understanding of Navy MWR customer‑service programs and willingness to complete related training.
