Production Control Clerk / Service Writer

About the role

The Production Control Clerk / Service Writer supports the Production Control Supervisor and Maintenance Manager on Diego Garcia by maintaining accurate equipment and vehicle data, generating custom tracking reports, and providing logistical and administrative assistance.

Key responsibilities

• Enter, update, and export information in GCSS‑ARMY or other approved logistics information systems.
• Perform 100% accurate data entry and reporting for vehicles and equipment assigned to the program.
• Create and maintain custom equipment‑tracking databases and spreadsheets.
• Prepare, update, and deliver regular reports to management.
• Support the Company Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) and Quality Assurance program.
• Ensure maintenance records are stored in historical jackets and the computerized maintenance management system.
• Mentor and assist with on‑the‑job training and cross‑training of staff.
• Comply with all company policies, safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two years of hands‑on experience in production control, administration, or dispatching.
• Training in Military Occupation CMF 92A Production Control or an equivalent commercial qualification.
• Valid state driver’s license and ability to obtain required military operator permits.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb and perform standard office tasks.
• Willingness to work day, night, weekend, or overtime shifts as needed.

Required skills

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using GCSS‑ARMY or other approved logistics information systems.
• Ability to read and apply technical manuals.
• Strong computer and office equipment usage skills.
