Production Control Clerk / Service Writer

About the role

The Production Control Clerk / Service Writer provides logistical and administrative support for the monitoring and management of military and civilian equipment on Diego Garcia. Working directly with the Production Control Supervisor and Maintenance Manager, the role ensures accurate data entry, reporting, and equipment tracking.

Key responsibilities

• Input, update, and export data using GCSS‑Army or approved LIS systems.
• Perform 100 % accurate data entry and reporting of vehicles assigned to the program.
• Create and maintain custom equipment tracking databases and spreadsheets.
• Generate, update, and deliver reports to management.
• Maintain maintenance records in historical jackets and the computerized maintenance management system.
• Support the Company Continuous Improvement Process and QA program.
• Mentor and assist with on‑the‑job training and cross‑training.
• Comply with all company policies, safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of hands‑on experience in production control, administration, or dispatching.
• Preferably trained in Military Occupation CMF 92A Production Control or equivalent.
• Valid state driver’s license and ability to obtain required vehicle/operator permits.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb and perform standard office tasks.
• Willingness to work day, night, weekend, or overtime as needed.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Experience using GCSS‑Army and other approved logistics information systems (LIS).
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals.
• Competence with standard computer and office equipment.
