Chaplain (Priest) – Spiritual Care for US Navy Personnel

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Chaplain (Priest) to provide spiritual care, pastoral counseling, and religious support to US Navy personnel and their families on Diego Garcia. The role involves delivering non‑denominational services and fostering an inclusive environment for a diverse, multi‑faith community.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct worship services, rites, ceremonies and faith‑based programs for a multi‑faith population.
• Provide confidential pastoral counseling, crisis intervention, grief support and emotional care.
• Advise leadership on ethical, moral and spiritual matters affecting readiness.
• Maintain accurate ministry records and ensure compliance with Navy, Amentum and contract standards.
• Collaborate with medical and behavioral health staff to support overall wellbeing.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; advanced theological education preferred.
• 1‑3 years experience in pastoral ministry, chaplaincy or spiritual leadership.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Valid passport (minimum 1‑year validity) and ability to obtain required visas and credentials.
• Willingness to work in an austere OCONUS environment and meet medical, security and deployment requirements.
