Medical Records Technician for BOSC Clinic

About the role

The Medical Records Technician will support the Base Operating Support Contractor (BOSC) Clinic on Diego Garcia by managing patient records, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations, and providing timely information to clinical staff.

Key responsibilities

• Organize, maintain, and update patient medical records in both physical and electronic formats in line with clinic policies.
• Validate completeness and accuracy of records, including histories, test results, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
• Register and update patient information in health record management systems, ensuring prompt data entry.
• Review records for HIPAA compliance and respond to authorized requests for records.
• Prepare reports and summaries of patient data as needed by clinical or administrative leadership.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of experience in medical records management or related healthcare administration.
• High school diploma or equivalent; English proficiency sufficient for contract requirements.
• Valid passport for at least one year and ability to obtain required visas and security clearances.

Required skills

• Proficiency with medical recordkeeping and health information management systems.
• Familiarity with standard office software applications.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and handling of protected health information (PHI).
• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
