About the role

Amentum is seeking a skilled Tailor to provide professional clothing alteration, repair, and tailoring services for a unique US Navy program on Diego Garcia.

Key responsibilities

• Perform a range of alteration services including resizing, hemming, mending, button replacement, and other garment adjustments.
• Measure and fit garments accurately, handle various fabrics and uniform types, and maintain sewing equipment.

Required profile

• Minimum of one year professional tailoring experience and a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid passport (minimum one‑year validity), ability to obtain required visas and pass contract medical requirements.

Required skills

• Proficiency with sewing machines, irons, and common tailoring tools.
• Strong understanding of garment construction, sewing techniques, and fabric properties.
