Production Control Clerk / Service Writer

About the role

The Production Control Clerk / Service Writer works on Diego Garcia supporting the Maintenance Manager and Production Control Supervisor. The role focuses on accurate data entry, equipment tracking and reporting to ensure smooth operation of military and civilian assets.

Key responsibilities

• Enter, update and export equipment data using GCSS‑Army or other approved logistics information systems.
• Create and maintain custom equipment tracking databases and spreadsheets.
• Generate and deliver regular reports to management.
• Maintain historical maintenance records in both physical jackets and the computerized maintenance management system.
• Support the company’s Continuous Improvement Process and Quality Assurance program.
• Provide logistical and administrative assistance to supervisors and managers.
• Mentor and assist with on‑the‑job training and cross‑training of staff.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two years of hands‑on experience in production control, administration or dispatching.
• Preferably trained in Military Occupation CMF 92A Production Control or a comparable commercial equivalent.
• Valid state driver’s license and ability to obtain a military operator’s permit for required vehicles.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb and perform standard office physical tasks.
• Willingness to work day, night, weekend or overtime as required.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using GCSS‑Army or other approved logistics information systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals.
