PPSO Specialist – Personal Property Shipping

About the role

Amentum is seeking a PPSO (Personal Property Shipping Office) Specialist to support a unique U.S. Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role involves managing the movement, storage, and handling of personal property and unaccompanied baggage for military personnel, civilian employees, and their dependents.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personal property support services, ensuring timely and compliant shipment, receipt, and storage.
• Coordinate documentation preparation, submission, and processing for relocations and storage.
• Utilize data entry and tracking systems to record shipments and status updates accurately.
• Schedule transportation and storage services while adhering to DoD guidelines.
• Conduct quality inspections of packing, handling, and storage operations.
• Collaborate with transportation providers to resolve claims, delays, or damages.
• Deliver exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving concerns.
• Handle classified and sensitive information with strict confidentiality.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of experience in personal property shipping, logistics, or transportation.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Familiarity with personal property preparation, shipping, receiving, and storage processes.
• Strong organizational and communication skills in English.
• Detail‑oriented with ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
• Valid passport (minimum one‑year validity) and ability to travel internationally.
• Ability to pass contract medical requirements for the deployment duration.
