Electrician – NGIS Warehouse Specialist (Diego Garcia)

About the role

Amentum is seeking an Electrician to support a unique US Navy NGIS Warehouse program on the remote island of Diego Garcia. The role involves a broad range of electrical maintenance, repair, and construction tasks while adhering to strict safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Identify life, health, and safety (LHS) issues and repair circuit faults on electrical systems.
• Install, maintain, repair, or replace electrical equipment and distribution systems in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
• Select appropriate materials for specific installations and complete accurate maintenance records.
• Oversee the electrical work of assigned personnel to ensure compliance with standards.
• Maintain electrical tools and equipment in safe operating condition and keep work areas clean and hazard‑free.
• Follow all safety procedures, wear required PPE, and perform other qualified duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• At least two years of experience as an Electrician Helper.
• Physically fit to stand, bend for long periods and lift up to 50 lb.
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work in a remote, potentially uncomfortable environment with long hours and adverse weather conditions.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of residual current devices (RCDs) and over‑current protective devices (OCPDs).
• Understanding of the National Electric Code (NEC) or similar standards.
• Knowledge of alternating current (AC) theory, motors, starters, and transformers.
