Sheetmetal Worker for US Navy Program

About the role

We are looking for a Sheetmetal Worker to join Amentum’s team supporting a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role involves fabricating, installing and repairing a variety of sheet‑metal components in a demanding offshore environment.

Key responsibilities

• Fabricate, assemble, install and repair sheet‑metal products such as ducts, vents, roofs, gutters and other structures.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings and work orders to prepare materials and execute jobs.
• Operate and maintain sheet‑metal tools and equipment including shears, brakes, drills and welding machines.
• Measure, cut and bend metal to precise dimensions using manual or computer‑controlled equipment.
• Join components by welding, bolting or soldering to ensure structural integrity.
• Install and maintain HVAC ductwork, roofing panels and related architectural components.
• Perform routine maintenance on tools, inspect completed work for quality and safety compliance.
• Collaborate with team members, supervisors and contractors to meet project deadlines.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of experience in sheet‑metal fabrication, installation or repair.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid passport with at least one year remaining and ability to pass contract medical requirements.
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects, work in confined spaces and perform demanding tasks.
