Crane Operator / Rigger – NGIS Warehouse Specialist

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Crane Operator / Rigger to support a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role involves moving materials safely using a mobile crane, performing inspections, and configuring rigging equipment according to load requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Move materials and mobile crane to various locations safely.
• Inspect and perform operator‑level maintenance on crane and rigging components.
• Select and configure cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks, shackles and sheaves based on load weight and size.
• Conduct site surveys, task analysis and lift calculations.
• Interact closely with the customer to coordinate material movements.
• Travel domestically and internationally as required.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year experience as a crane rigger.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work at heights and lift up to 75 lb.
• Physical ability to bend, stoop and work around equipment in remote, potentially uncomfortable conditions.
• Willingness to work long hours and adapt to adverse weather or short‑notice movements.
