Commercial Diver / Mechanic / Rigger (Diego Garcia)

About the role

Amentum is looking for an experienced commercial diver who can also serve as a mechanic and rigger to support a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role involves underwater surveys, equipment recovery, and maintenance of dive‑locker assets in a remote offshore environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning and executing underwater surveys and mission recovery operations.
• Operate and tend the hyperbaric chamber for medical treatments.
• Perform scheduled, unscheduled, and emergency maintenance and repairs on dive‑locker equipment.
• Conduct work in underwater vessels and confined spaces, ensuring proper use of PPE.
• Operate dive vessels as required by training and assignment.
• Repair and maintain local buoys and moorings.
• Carry out additional duties related to dive operations as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum three (3) years of commercial diving experience (preferred).
• High school diploma or equivalent; graduate of a U.S. certified commercial or military diving school.
• Ability to pass a diving physical in accordance with OSHA Commercial Diving Regulations or U.S. Coast Guard regulations.
• Valid driver’s license with a suitable driving record.
• Willingness to work extended offshore periods, in remote and potentially uncomfortable conditions.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, exercise mature judgment, and follow directions.
