About the role
Amentum is seeking a Baker to support a US Navy program located on the island of Diego Garcia. The role involves preparing bakery items to consistent quality standards while ensuring food safety and hygiene in a remote, multi‑national environment.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare bakery menu items using standardized recipes and accurate weights/measures.
- Maintain the highest quality standards for all bakery products.
- Ensure personal hygiene and keep the work area clean and sanitized.
- Oversee other staff in the absence of the Head Baker.
- Record production and waste daily.
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning checklists.
- Prepare food for the next shift and perform additional duties as assigned.
Required profile
- Minimum 1 year experience baking in a full‑service or institutional food‑service environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Hold a valid ServSafe (or equivalent) certification.
- Good English communication skills.
- Valid passport with at least one year remaining and ability to travel internationally.
- Ability to pass contract medical requirements and maintain facility credentials.
Required skills

- Knowledge of standardized bakery recipes.
- Proficiency in using weights and measures for ingredient adjustments.
