UICAP Outage Coordinator

About the role

The UICAP Outage Coordinator supports a critical U.S. Navy program on Diego Garcia by tracking and managing utilities service interruptions. Working within the Maximo™ environment, the role ensures accurate data collection and timely reporting to maintain mission readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Document all utilities commodity service interruptions in Maximo™, linking each record to the appropriate assets and work orders.
• Update and communicate monthly SAIDI (System Average Interruption Duration Index) and SAIFI (System Average Interruption Frequency Index) metrics to the Utilities Management chain of command.
• Provide the Public Works Officer and key stakeholders with up‑to‑date metrics for situational awareness.
• Conduct regular audits of interruption documentation to ensure compliance with operational standards.
• Support readiness operations by facilitating communication between teams and helping mitigate outage‑related risks.
• Perform additional duties as assigned that align with the position’s scope.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two years of experience in utilities operations, service management, or outage coordination.
• Ability to read, speak, and comprehend English for contract performance and emergency procedures.
• Valid passport (minimum one‑year validity) and ability to obtain required visas and medical clearances.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Maximo™ or a comparable Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Understanding of SAIDI and SAIFI metrics and their application in utilities management.
