Tennis Instructor – US Navy Program (Diego Garcia)

About the role

Amentum is seeking a qualified Tennis Instructor to deliver professional tennis instruction for a US Navy recreation program on Diego Garcia. You will work with individuals and groups of varying ages and skill levels, creating a supportive and engaging learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide approximately 20 hours of tennis lessons per week for beginners, intermediate and advanced participants.
• Teach fundamentals, techniques, strategies, and rules, offering personalized coaching on serving, volleying, footwork and match play.
• Design and run practice drills, matches and conditioning exercises to improve overall performance.
• Maintain tennis courts, nets and equipment, ensuring safety and performance standards.
• Distribute and care for racquets, balls and practice aids, and prepare lesson plans and facility setup.
• Interact professionally with participants, delivering feedback, answering questions and fostering an inclusive atmosphere.

Required profile

• Certification or documented experience as a Tennis Instructor (USPTA, PTR or equivalent).
• Proven ability to teach players of all ages and skill levels.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to pass contract medical requirements and maintain compliance throughout deployment.
