Technical Control Facility Operator (TCF) – Diego Garcia

About the role

The Technical Control Facility (TCF) Operator will ensure that voice, data, and satellite communications meet strict performance thresholds for a U.S. government contract on Diego Garcia. The role requires 24/7 on‑call availability to monitor and maintain critical communications infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and monitor communications equipment, data connectivity, and circuit continuity.
• Activate new circuits and trunks, perform quality‑control checks, and respond to emergent taskings.
• Monitor HF communications, maintain frequency databases, and manage KMI local element accounts.
• Maintain and record all QC activities in accordance with DISA Circular 310‑130‑2 and contract requirements.
• Provide on‑call support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least four years of general communications experience, including two years directly in Technical Control Facility operations.
• U.S. citizenship, ability to obtain a Secret clearance, a valid U.S. passport and driver’s license, and meet PACOM medical requirements.
• Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.

Required skills

• Operation and maintenance of AN/GSC 52B, M/20 JUNIPER, RT2200, KIV7M, and associated crypto equipment.
• Fiber optic equipment handling.
• Security systems, antenna couplers, multiplex/de‑multiplex equipment, line amplifiers, frequency standards, high‑speed modems, power supplies, data terminal sets, alarms, signal converters, and remote SATCOM monitors.
• HF voice and data communication equipment.
