MWR Electronics Technician – US Navy Program

About the role

The Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) Electronics Technician will support a unique US Navy program on Diego Garcia, ensuring all electronic and electrical equipment used for recreation and morale activities remains operational and safe.

Key responsibilities

• Install, repair, maintain, and troubleshoot a wide range of electronic and electrical equipment.
• Perform tests, inspections, and diagnostics to identify and resolve technical issues.
• Ensure compliance with NAVFAC MO-200 standards, including required training and certifications.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams for system repairs and modifications.
• Adhere to safety regulations, operational requirements, and electrical codes.
• Coordinate with supervisors and team members to complete tasks on schedule.
• Participate in ongoing training to retain certifications and stay current with technological advancements.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum four years of experience repairing televisions, DVD players, digital projectors, cameras, handheld radios, boat electronic equipment, club music systems, theater movie projectors, and other MWR electronics.
• Certification and training as required by NAVFAC MO-200 standards.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents, wiring schematics, and electronic manuals.
• Completion of Customer Service, CPR, and First Aid training with annual recertification.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid passport (minimum one‑year validity) and ability to travel internationally.
• Pass contract medical requirements and maintain them throughout deployment.
