MSC Riding Gang Paint Supervisor

About the role

We are looking for an experienced MSC Riding Gang Paint Supervisor to lead paint crews on MSC vessels operating from Diego Garcia. The role involves managing preservation, coating and surface‑prep activities while ships are underway or in port, ensuring compliance with Navy and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise Riding Gang paint teams performing surface preparation, coating application and corrosion control on MSC vessels.
• Coordinate daily work assignments, schedules and task execution in both underway and port conditions.
• Inspect completed work for quality, safety and compliance with technical specifications.
• Maintain accurate logs, reports and documentation of material usage, labor hours and safety compliance.
• Provide onboarding, training and safety briefings for paint personnel.
• Collaborate with ship leadership, engineering teams and Amentum management to align paint activities with vessel maintenance schedules.
• Ensure all activities meet environmental, safety and regulatory requirements.
• Report project progress, personnel status and operational impacts to leadership.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in marine painting, preservation, corrosion control or related maintenance fields.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in coatings or marine maintenance preferred.
• Valid passport with at least one year validity beyond hire date and ability to travel internationally.
• Ability to meet contract medical requirements and obtain necessary facility credentials.
• Strong leadership, communication and documentation abilities.
