IT Support Technician – Diego Garcia

About the role

Amentum is seeking an IT Support Technician to provide on‑site technical support for a U.S. government contract on Diego Garcia. You will ensure workstations and user applications run smoothly while complying with strict performance and security guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain PC hardware and workstations.
• Support user applications, troubleshoot Windows and Office issues.
• Execute touch‑labor tasks and provide 24/7 on‑call support.
• Maintain records, prepare reports, conduct inspections, and ensure compliance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS) and U.S. government requirements.
• Perform additional duties as assigned, including safety and training responsibilities.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two years of experience in a Microsoft operating environment with hands‑on PC hardware work.
• U.S. citizenship, ability to obtain a Secret clearance, passport, and driver’s license.
• Ability to pass PACOM medical requirements and work in an austere OCONUS environment.
• Physical ability to stand long periods and lift up to 50 lb.

Required skills

• Microsoft Windows and Office support.
• PC hardware installation, configuration, and maintenance.
• Cisco certifications: CCNP, CCDP, CCIE.
• Microsoft certifications: MCSA, MCDST, MCP.
• Security certifications meeting DoD IAT‑1 (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, or SSCP) and CSWF Basic.
