HVAC Master Technician for US Navy Program

About the role

Amentum is seeking an experienced HVAC Master Technician to support a critical US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role involves ensuring the reliable operation of large‑scale chilled water and DX air‑conditioning plants and associated air‑distribution systems.

Key responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair on chilled water and Direct Expansion (DX) centralized air‑conditioning plant equipment.
• Support Variable Air Volume (VAV) and Constant Volume air‑distribution systems with capacities of 100 tons or greater.
• Conduct inspections, fault diagnosis, testing, and preventive maintenance for HVAC systems.
• Troubleshoot and implement repairs to maintain safe and efficient system operation.
• Assist in planning and scheduling HVAC maintenance activities.
• Document inspections, test results, maintenance actions, and repairs in compliance with regulatory and organizational requirements.
• Supervise and provide technical guidance to team members, ensuring work is performed efficiently and safely.
• Ensure adherence to environmental safety regulations and proper refrigerant handling practices.

Required profile

• Fluent English (read, speak, comprehend) for contract performance and emergency procedures.
• Valid passport (minimum one year) and ability to obtain required visas.
• Pass contract medical requirements and maintain compliance throughout deployment.
• Valid U.S. HVAC Master License.
• Minimum five years of experience maintaining and repairing chilled water and DX‑type centralized air‑conditioning plants supporting VAV and constant‑volume systems of 100 tons or more.
• Completion of Refrigeration and Air‑Conditioning Servicing National Certification Level III (RAC NC III) or equivalent.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
