Galley Supervisor – US Navy Dining Facility

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Galley Supervisor to lead daily food service operations for a US Navy Dining Facility on Diego Garcia. You will ensure meals meet contract, military, and food safety standards while providing leadership to the DFAC team.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all DFAC operations, including food preparation, meal service, sanitation, and facility management.
• Supervise staffing, scheduling, and execution of daily food service requirements.
• Prepare large‑volume meals using various cooking methods while maintaining quality and timeliness.
• Ensure compliance with contract requirements, technical manuals, AR nutrition standards, and DOD food safety regulations.
• Monitor performance, safety, and quality expectations on a daily basis.
• Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to DFAC personnel.
• Maintain required documentation, reports, and records in line with contract and leadership directives.

Required profile

• Minimum two years experience in a food service supervisory or management role, preferably supporting Navy or military operations.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities while maintaining service standards.

Required skills

• Food safety compliance (AR 40‑656, AR 40‑657, AR 40‑660, DOD Hazardous Food).
• Knowledge of military nutrition standards (AR 40‑25, AR 600‑60, PAM 600‑24).
• Experience with large‑volume meal preparation and DFAC operations.
• Familiarity with Tri‑Service Food Code (TB 530) and related inspection programs.
