Fire Protection Technician

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Fire Protection Technician to support a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role focuses on fire prevention, safety, and protection activities to maintain a safe environment for personnel and facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Locate all fire alarms and activate them in emergencies.
• Handle and store combustible supplies, waste, and trash safely.
• Inspect storage areas and workspaces to identify and mitigate fire risks.
• Follow safety guidelines and fire‑prevention practices to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Participate in fire‑safety training and maintain knowledge of response protocols.
• Collaborate with the Fire and Emergency Services Department to address hazards.
• Report safety violations, fire risks, or faulty equipment for immediate resolution.
• Assist with workplace safety initiatives to promote fire‑safety awareness.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Fundamental knowledge of fire‑safety and prevention practices.
• Proven ability to identify fire risks and enforce best practices.
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
• Ability to pass contract medical requirements and maintain compliance during deployment.
• Capability to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
