Electrician – US Navy Program Support

About the role

Amentum is seeking a qualified Electrician to support a critical US Navy program on the remote island of Diego Garcia. The role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial, industrial, and facility electrical systems while ensuring strict compliance with safety standards and electrical codes.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain, repair, troubleshoot, and replace electrical wiring, equipment, and components according to contract requirements.
• Inspect, test, and diagnose faults in electrical distribution systems, circuits, and equipment.
• Identify and mitigate life, health, and safety hazards related to electrical work.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to maximize system reliability.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspections, testing, and repairs.
• Ensure tools, testing equipment, and work areas are kept safe, clean, and organized.
• Provide technical guidance to assigned personnel and respond to electrical emergencies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two years experience as an Electrician Helper or in a similar maintenance role.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English (preferred).
• Valid passport and ability to travel internationally.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of electrical distribution systems and wiring methods.
• Familiarity with residual current devices and overcurrent protective devices.
• Proficiency with electrical hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and diagnostic instruments.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
