Production Control Clerk / Service Writer

About the role

The Production Control Clerk / Service Writer provides essential logistical and administrative support for the monitoring and management of military and civilian equipment on Diego Garcia. Working closely with the Production Control Supervisor and Maintenance Manager, the role ensures accurate data handling and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Enter, update, and export equipment data using GCSS Army or approved LIS systems.
• Perform 100% accurate data entry and reporting for vehicles assigned to the program.
• Create and maintain custom equipment tracking databases and spreadsheets.
• Generate, update, and deliver regular reports to management.
• Support the Company Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) and Quality Assurance program.
• Maintain historical maintenance records in GCSS‑ARMY and other approved systems.
• Mentor and assist with on‑the‑job training and cross‑training.
• Comply with all company policies, safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two years of hands‑on experience in production control, administration, or dispatch.
• Training in Military Occupation CMF 92A Production Control MOS series or a comparable commercial equivalent.
• Valid state driver’s license and ability to obtain a military operator’s permit for required vehicles.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb and perform standard office tasks.
• Flexibility to work day, night, weekend, or overtime shifts as needed.

Required skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using GCSS Army and other approved logistics information systems (LIS).
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
